Vocations and Missions

Overview

Founded by a parish priest, Blesssed Fr Michael McGiveney, the Knights of Columbus has always worked hard to encourage young men to consider God’s call to service in the priesthood.

Under the motto “Keep the Faith Alive,” the Order’s vocations initiative has a number of programs based on prayer and designed to reach the hearts and minds of young people, as well as to provide financial support during their years of seminary training or religious formation.

In support of these initiatives and Keep the Faith Alive, Council 12392 supports vocations and missions through prayer and financial support. We support Seminarians, other religious in training, FOCUS Support and Deacon Hugh and His Work.

Fundraising and Donations

In the past, the council has raised funds for vocations/missions support primarily through our Peach and Pear Sales. However, as we have striven to increase our support, we have added funds raised via our Pancake Breakfast and Burrito Sales from both events dedicated to vocations/missions and from excess funds from other events. In addition, we have taken collections for Deacon Hugh and His Work.

We also accept online donations in our Shop or in-person donations that can be directed to Vocations or Deacon Hugh and His Work, as well as other programs. The Knights of Columbus charities also accepts donations for its scholarship programs for vocations; information available by clicking here.

RSVP

Furthermore, the council participates in the REFUND SUPPORT VOCATIONS PROGRAM (RSVP) run by our Supreme Council. A portion of our donation to each qualifying seminarian and postulant is refunded, which allows us to support additional candidates who may or may not qualify as part of the RSVP.

Because the RSVP Program is run on a Fiscal Year basis, you will note that references to years found below are started as a Fiscal Year.

Those We Support

Below you will find the seminarians and postulants that the council has supported. Additional information about future priests in Colorado is available.

For missions, see the Deacon Hugh and His Work or FOCUS Support.
