9/11 Remembrance – 20 years Later
This September 11, 2021 was 20 years after the attacks of 9/11. In remembrance, the Knights of Columbus Council 12392 are going to use the proceeds from our sold-out Burrito sales from the weekend of 9/11 to purchase (3) sets of Law Enforcement Protective Equipment for Jefferson County Law Enforcement through Shield 616. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our parish family, friends and visitors, we were able to raise over $2700 (after expenses) which will pay for a substantial amount of the equipment we will donate. The rest of the money will come from previous burrito sales. Thanks to all for helping us be able to do this!
Peach & Pear Sale Results
Thanks to the generosity of our customers and their enthusiastic reception of the peaches and pears from C&R Farms, the Knights raised over $6000 for various Vocations, Church Ministries and other Community Programs.
Knights at the Rockies 2021
Great fun was had by all who attended the Knights at the Rockies 2021 on August 20th. The Rockies won 9-4 over the Diamondbacks. A bargain at $16 per ticket!
Council Retreat - April 17, 2021
On April 17th we hosted a Council Retreat and invited the parish to learn, strengthen and share our faith. We started the day by attending mass on Saturday morning. Following mass, we thoroughly enjoyed a presentation given by brother Tim Heaton. While he told us of his “failure to launch” he also taught us some prayer techniques. After his presentation we shared some lunch (after all we are Knights, and Knights events = food). We then performed a service project for our church. We did a deep cleaning on the kitchen in Durrie Hall.
About 40 people showed up for the retreat. Our parish knows all about our works of charity and they are very generous when it comes to donating and helping us. We also want to share our faith with the community as well. Events like this can help define us even more. It is nice to be able to get together and explore our faith, enjoy each other’s company and show the community another side of our fraternity. Hopefully we can do more things like this with even more people participating.
